Active Learning In Engineering Education (ALIEN)
Project ALIEN aims to improve the quality of higher education by providing more motivating, stimulating, and effective learning contexts based on active learning and problem-based learning that prepare students for their professional life through the development of industry desired competences. ALIEN aims to establish active learning and problem-based learning as strategic educational approaches in engineering higher education. ALIEN introduces a learning intervention that addresses all challenges that inhibit the wide deployment of active and problem-based in engineering higher education.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Programme of the European Commission. It is being implemented in 5 European and 5 Asian countries with the participation of 17 universities from Greece, Portugal, the UK, Estonia, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, and Pakistan.
